I really like this website. It offers games, videos and photos all about animals and pets. There is also a tab to explore countries. I really like the Little kids Tab. This tab offers crafts and recipes, science experiements and games for little ones. The website is easy to navigate and is very kid friendly.
  •
This is a great and comprehensive website that includes games, videos, photos, kid blogs, kid news, and other "fun stuff"!

This magazine is very accessible! I have seen the multiple reading levels used in the classroom setting. Students are getting the same information but the text is written with vocabulary and structure that is appropriate for their current reading level. Great Magazine for any classroom!

Newsademic - a children's newspaper and home school educational resource - 3 views

This looks interesting. I like that it has a variety of subscriptions options for families, schools, libraries, and specifically mentioned Home Schoolers too. I was not able to get into the free trial paper at this time. It also offered lessons plans and supports. I would like to look at the free trail issue - will try again later to get it.

The Learning Network - The Learning Network Blog - NYTimes.com - 7 views

  •
Great site that offers teaching and learning materials based on CURRENT TOPICS in the NY Times. Students can post their opinions, take quizzes, take part in self tests, check out the word of the day, etc. Today's "fill in the blank article" is based on the story of a cat from Co that was lost for 5yrs and found in NYC!!! Read article, then try to fill in the blanks!

I plan on using this site for my students who need RWG, high interest reading! Love it!
  •
I think this would be a great reinforcer for a student who loves sports!!!
  •
I like this website for students who are interested in sports. However, the readability of a lot of the articles is quite high. This would be a difficult website for struggling readers to access as the language in the articles is advanced for lower elementary students.
