Semiの存在をAtomの供給量の確保に関するIntelとの交渉材料として利用することだ。「Atomが確保できなければ、P.A. Semiのプロセッサを使う」とIntelにプレッシャーをかけるわけだ。そうすれば、タフネゴシェータであるジョブズに屈して、Atomのチップを潤沢にAppleに供給する事も十分あり得る。 　その意味では、AtomとP.A. Semiの、どちらを使うケースも考えられるため、そこの部分までは予測しきれない。蓋をあけたら、P.A. Semiを使ったiPhone、AtomのiPhone2つが出てくる可能性すらありうる。Appleは、供給さえ確保されれば、どちらのCPUでも動くようにシステムを作っている可能性が高い。Intel対応したときを思い出しても、Mac OS Xは最初からすべてのバージョンでIntel対応版が裏で用意されていた過去があり、Appleの準備は周到だった。iPhoneでも、Atom、P.A. Semiのどちらにも対応できる体制になっているのではないか。
